Local Italian Restaurant (VEGAN options too)!

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company

Last week I was invited to a local Italian restaurant in Daytona, to tryout some new menu items. We have eaten take-out from here before, but was very excited to sit down and try some new dishes.  I took the family, and wanted to share some of the delicious items we enjoyed, and yes, I was able to eat entirely VEGAN!

What did we try?

We first started out with the bruschetta as an appetizer, and it was delicious (and vegan)! Dan and I enjoyed this, as C does not like tomatoes. I also had the house Italian salad, without the parmesan cheese. I really enjoyed the taste of the balsamic dressing .

Dan and C went for pizza and calzones for dinner (and C also had a salad, with just lettuce, and her LOL doll also got to enjoy it). Dan had the pepperoni & mushroom calzone, and C had a pepperoni pizza.

Since I already had their veggie pizza (with vegan sausage added), I wanted to try a new dish. I went with a “make your own” type of pasta dish, which they were more than willing to whip up for me. I had the (GF) Rotini, with the vegan sauce, and added spinach, mushrooms, red bell pepper, and (vegan) spicy Italian sausage. Was very flavorful, and I could only eat half (yay for lunch the next day). I also enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir, but forgot to take a pic.

After we packed up our take home boxes……you KNOW we had to try some dessert! Even though I am Italian, I don’t really eat many traditional Italian desserts…, we went with colder dishes (since C LOVES ice cream).  They both ordered Gelato, and I had the mango sorbet. But, since you really can’t visit an Italian restaurant and not get Cannoli, they brought one out and C tried it for the first time.

Speaking of dessert….if you are a Nutella fan, you have to try their SIGNATURE NUTELLA®CALZONE! I was wondering why they had so many jars of Nutella when we first walked in, and that is why! They said it’s a best seller!

Caylyn tried her first Cannoli

It’s also nice that on certain nights, you can enjoy some live music outside, and every night/day, the family board games are also set up.

MidiCi is located across from the speedway at One Daytona.  You can view their menu over at their website, and also find them on facebook here.

Have you eaten here yet? If so, comment with your favorite dish!
