Clean Eating for Busy Moms; Simple Food Swaps

OK busy moms, yesterday we talked about the basic meaning of what CLEAN EATING is.  I mentioned that clean eating is about eating whole foods, or “real” foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible.

Today, I am taking it a step further, and giving you some simple food swaps. First, let’s recap and go over “How to Eat Clean”.

HOW TO EAT CLEAN (for Beginners)

  1. Cook your own food
  2. Read the nutritional label
  3. Eat whole foods
  4. Avoid processed foods
  5. Eat balanced meals
  6. Limit added fats, salts & sugars
  7. Eat 5-6 small meals per day
  8. Don’t drink your calories (but drink enough water)

Don’t think too much in to this, and don’t over complicate things. Here are some easy, healthy food swaps to try out. Baby steps, take it one day at a time. You can’t change EVERYTHING all at once. Here are a few simple swaps that I use, as well as a video of some others.
